Super-Math with Dr. Jones
For many homeschool parents math is the
thorn in their side. If memories of your mathematical learning
experience fails to bring a smile to your face, this may be the
class for you!
Super Math is a concept ahead of its time.
Using the
techniques of Dr. Jones' famous Accelerated Learning Super-Math
program, students and parents will work together to master the
fundamentals of math. Students from ages 2 through High School
can learn math on the same day using the same unique teaching
style found only in Super-Math.
Biography:
As
Director of the Institute for Accelerated
Learning, Dr. Jones trains teachers
and students in centers located through-out Texas; including Dallas, Fort Worth
and Houston; using the Accelerated Learning curriculum he created as a result of
decades of research and practice in education.
In
the 1980’s, Dr. Jones became a respected international specialist in
accelerated learning as Associate Director of the Lozanov Language Institute in
Dallas. In 1990 he was the head of
the English Basic Skills Center of the United Arab Emirates University where he
set up a rapid learning program for 2500 university students.
Dr. Jones served as Language Training Specialist foe the US Defense
Language Institute; Professor of English at the Air Defense Academy in Sana’a,
Yemen; Language Training Manager for Ford Motor Co. at their assembly plant in
Hermosillo, Mexico; Reading and Research Consultant for World Book Encyclopedia;
ESL curriculum development for American Guidance Systems; and Accelerated
Learning Specialist for Trajectoires Associees in Paris, France. Dr. Jones taught to industry executives all over France where
he studied the statistical science of Total Quality Management.
He worked in the French education system as Chief of Pedagogy for English
at the Centre de Formation Apprentis.
Since returning to Texas, Dr. Jones taught in Dallas public schools for 6
years as a classroom teacher, served as Advantage Charter Schools’ Direct
Instruction Specialist setting up the Oak Cliff Academy, and was Assistant
Professor of Education at Texas A & M - Commerce.
Dr.
Jones graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a doctorate in
foreign language education specializing in accelerated learning. He has a Master’s degree in bilingual education and a
Bachelor’s in languages and linguistics from Antioch University. He is the author of numerous texts, tapes, films, and
articles on rapid learning, language acquisition, memory training, literacy,
speed-reading, mathematics and school reform.

Creative Arts in Action is excited to offer a unique
approach to math. The renowned Super-Math program, brainchild of Dr. Miles
Jones of the Institute for Accelerated Learning, will be offered next spring
at the CAIA Center.
Dr. Jones has a doctorate in education, specializing in
accelerated learning from the University of Texas.
Super-Math takes accelerated learning methodology; such as rapid mental
calculation technique, memory training, and speed-reading; and integrates
them into the core curriculum. The program is flexible and can adjust for the
needs and pace of each student. The process allows Super-Math students to
progress 3 to 5 times faster than a traditional math curriculum.
To give you a taste of what you can expect, you are invited to a Math
Demonstration in the Cottage Theatre at Creative Arts In Action.

| For children ages 6-12 who
understand addition and subtraction although their skills may be far
from perfect. The program teaches mastery of basic skills and
introduces borrowing, carrying, multiplication and division concepts,
as well as rapid calculation skills. |
Students will complete the
mastery of the basic skills and advance into powers, derivation of
roots, into to fractions, and decimals. The student will also continue
to acquire rapid calculations skills. Graduation criteria is Grand
Facts-Master.

This course is for teens and
advanced pre-teens who can already multiply and divide. The course
teaches mastery of all math operations, powers, factoring and signed
numbers. Students also continue to increase their knowledge of
fractions and rapid calculation skills and memory training. |
Prerequisites Grand
Facts-Master and Super-Math Four or Five.
In Super-Math Six, students will master factoring,
powers, roots, signed numbers, advanced calculation skills, and
practice all 8 operations with fractions. Graduation Criteria is
Factor-Master. |
All Classes start with an Orientation

| Super-Math Seven: Rapid Calculation
For students who have already done operations with
fractions. They will master all math operations including factoring,
powers, roots, Super-Math rapid calculation and fractions. |
Super-Math Eight: Equation Master
Prerequisite - Super-Math six or seven. This module
teaches basic algebra and geometry. The course integrates rapid
calculation skills into the solving of all types of equations. |

of algebra such as function concepts, symbolic reasoning, and
basic graphing skills as well as rapid calculation skills are
vital to Acing the SAT. This
course is the foundation for all other high school math and is
critical to the success of all students. Classes will be taught by trained
teachers under the direction
of Dr. Miles Jones.
The First Semester will cover Super-Math
Seven involving factoring, powers, roots and fractions and in the second Semester
students will go on the learn all the skills found in Super-Math
Eight needed for Algebra and
Geometry and rapid calculation skills to prepare your students to ACE the SAT.
Students that have previously completed Super-Math 7 may join
our Super Math 8 Class for a pro-rated fee.
Class Time: 2 hours - This is a two 16- week

Super-Math
Captains Course
This special Course taught by Dr. Jones will focus
on
perfecting and expanding upon students rapid
mental calculation
and super-memory skills. It will teach the students to captain the demonstration,
including, addressing the audience, posing the questions, checking the answers mentally for correctness, maintaining the pace, and generally learning the leadership necessary to direct a team effort.
In addition, these students will travel and
perform public demonstrations of their Super-Math skills throughout
the Metroplex. The
Captains Course is not only for older students. Graduates of
Super-Math 3 and Super-Math
5 who have received
an A Grade... and who desire to be Super-Math Team
Captains. are encouraged to participate. They will be
required to purchase Math 4 or 6 and complete them
as part of the program. They will also learn additional memory
projects.

Super-Reading/Speed Reading
The Super-Reading Laboratory is a speed-reading course that
focuses on reading and discussion of literature and other
materials.
It is an intensive reading course that accelerates speed,
vocabulary and comprehension. It produces immediate and dynamic
results. Classes will be taught by trained teachers under the
personal direction
of Dr. Miles Jones.
Classes are offered for Grades 7 - 9 and
Grades 9 - 12.
Class Time: 1 hour - This is a
one-semester 16-week course! Parents are REQUIRED to sit in on all of the classes
of at least one level to learn the techniques of Accelerated
Learning to be able to help your students master the
